XJ – Gas Tank Skid

Description

Here is our universal gas tank skid plate! Made from 3/16″ steel, bent and welded into a stout high clearance option to protect your gas tank. Includes large drainage holes right up near the rear axle to allow maximum drainage of water/mud/gravel, while not being in a place that will come in frequent contact with rocks. It has been tested with late model plastic gas tanks and earlier metal gas tanks. It fits both, though you may have to bend the outside edges of the metal gas tanks up slightly to fit.

This skid also has 4 bolt holes at the rear which can be used to integrate into our bumper with optional connecting plate for the absolute maximum strength and smoothest sliding surfaces possible.

This product does *NOT* come with hardware. Also, it is not compatible with hitches. Most aftermarket bumpers (including ours) come with hitch recovery points and d rings that replace the need for a hitch that sits below the frame rail. But many jeeps have the nut plates and hardware from previous hitch installations. If yours needs hardware, we offer that separately!
